Leigh (Duncan) Durst is the principal of Live Path. She is a 19 year veteran in business, operations and customer strategy, ecommerce, digital and social media. As an active consultant, writer, speaker and teacher, she is an advocate for creating remarkable customer experiences that harness digital media and improving business outcomes. She also concentrates her efforts on helping clients work smarter and more efficiently by providing operational and community management support. Leigh began her career by co-founding the Interactive Services Division at 1-800-FLOWERS, where she became an early leader in online retail, information design, online merchandising and cross-platform commerce. She then moved on to manage ground-breaking eCommerce operations for American Express. She later continued her pioneering work in portals, channel and applications development for several successful start-up companies at the forefront of community building, including eShare Technologies and Crosswalk.com.


Later in her career, Leigh served as an account, engagement and strategic lead for Bearing Point a top global management consulting firm recently acquired by Delloite & Touche. During her six-year tenure, she established ground-breaking eCommerce and integrated marketing infrastructures for a number of Fortune 100, startup, non-profit and government clients. She was an instrumental solutions lead for the firm's Portal, Usability, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Marketing Resource Management (MRM) solutions. She was also a member of the firm's eBusiness faculty and was instrumental in the development of core coursework supporting senior staff. During her tenure, some of her clients included: AOL/Time Warner, Medtronic, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Novartis, Roche, Glaxo Smith-Kline, Ethnic Grocer.com, Syngenta, The United States Senate, The United States Army Reserve, Chevron, Ethnic Grocer.com, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Ethnic Grocer, Kennametal and Pentair.


In addition to numerous web awards, Leigh's work won Compaq's 2003 Cutting Edge award, a WireLis pilot for the United States Senate, as well as the President's Award from Bristol Myers Squibb. Leigh was also a recipient of Bearing Point's 2005 Beacon Award for outstanding performance. During her tenture, Leigh also contributed to the international best seller Web Redesign: Workflow that Works as well as numerous national and international industry journals and magazines – both online and in print.


Today, Leigh is an active industry consultant, writer, speaker and teacher. Some of her more recent work includes contributing to the success of companies like Right Now Technologies, Johnson & Johnson, Clarabridge, the IEEE Standards Association, the University of Hawaii, several small-to-mid sized businesses and non-profits.


Leigh also authors the Experience Architect weblog. She serves as a senior contributing editor for Marketing Profs and This Mommy Gig and has authored and contributed to a myriad of articles in national/international media and industry press. Her work has been featured in Fast Company and The Business 2.0 Weblog and she has been featured as a subject matter expert for CNN, Destination CRM and Internet Retailer Magazine, as well as numerous foreign publications.
